Always happy and have been for over 40 years. Always good beer, delicious food and friendly service. Guests quickly slide together at the counter and you start a conversation.
Very nice restaurant, low prices
Topppp. Food is good, I hope we can go back in soon.
Very nice place where eating and drinking fit.
Delicious mussels! Very friendly everyone !!!
Delicious, friendly, great! Huge portion of mussels for € 13.90, I'm in love. The rest of the menu is great too, but you can't beat the mussel season ? even if I had to bring my own pot (had it to take away), it's worth it. I've been sitting in front of my pot for an hour and it won't empty ?
Great home cooking; quick service; ideal for the evening and a round double head
Simple inn without chichi. Good "home cooking" at fair prices. Very attentive service.
Good service, original ambience, prices are affordable and delicious food. Everything fitted. Disadvantage parking is really difficult in the city.
It is a cozy pub with home-style, tasty cuisine at moderate prices. Here you can meet the long-established Essenes from the district and the new students. So all in all an interesting mix. We recommend.
Very cozy. Good burger.
Later this afternoon I saw a dubious fancy group on the outside terrace of the Gasthaus Zum Brenner. They wanted to sit down at our table with five people. Ten are now allowed after the Corona easing. The basic rules of decency didn't seem to be one of their basics to me. No one asked if they could sit down. I refused. Because I wanted to keep enough distance from people who were strange to me. Until then, there were two of me at the table with my companion. There were no comparable tables for two; In addition, as soon as the bar opened, I asked the counter staff whether I could simply choose a nice place outside. Apparently, Im Brenner does not have a clear hygiene concept. When I asked, the service staff did not want to comment on the hygiene rules. I mean: Caution is the mother of the porcelain box. The Schickimicki group could have reserved a table beforehand. But the Word Leader probably expected other guests to jump when she came. Did I have "Queen Mother von Rüttenscheid" in front of me - without having recognized her? lol I DO NOT need such regulars. And as an innkeeper, you can't choose your guests either. Whoever I sit with, I ALWAYS choose myself! We'll get that far! >> Test the so-called cosiness in the BRENNER yourself - it’s best! :-)
Even in Corona times "best hospitality" ...
Tradition obliges. Everything is actually right here. Actually? Well ... at the Pilsner only Köpi and Veltins. But deduction of points? Really not. Ruhr area pub culture without fault and blame. Always good!
Nice service, delicious eaten and drunk. Always my pleasure.
Old-fashioned pub in the best sense. Good food, delicious beer. A perfect Monday evening!
So we were the first time in the inn and I can not describe how great it was! Mega! Food was really really really good! Tomato soup and gypsy pom pom :) Really good !! Finally a meatball on hand ... mega !!! Service was mega mega! Right 1a Ruhrpott! Would love to come back! Great! Atmospheric atmosphere too! GREAT!! :)
Nice staff and a good innkeeper who understands that you also need good and above all enough wait staff. Rarely seen a shop so well organized and running lately, everyone knew what to do and was attentive. Dividing lines on the lid into five would still be good, not thirty individual ...

Cult, iconic, Brenner! A classic German pub, run by professionals. The host and his family / staff know how to operate gastronomy and are also incredibly warm. The kitchen is highly recommended. If you like down to earth, here is in good hands.
Must visit! Great bar, great food and great people.
Excellent
Love the food here. When you walk in this place, it is like the neighborhood bar with the locals in their spots. Past that is the main dining room and the food is great. My group has eaten here at least 3 times now and we have always enjoyed the food and the experience.
Great local cosy pub
* Ambience: rustic. * Service: actually top. Arrogant co-chef in the kitchen. Too bad. Forbids his brother, landlord, also boss, with whom I had a nice chat as the last guest, to shut up. To me, so to speak. Impossible. * Food: Plentiful. Looks good too. * Drink: usual range of bars * Price-performance ratio: common in the district
Very nice Place

A friendly and fun place
Great local bar - authentic as they come
Authentic German pub, with excellent kitchen! Snacks on Frikadella or mett, or sit down to a delicious roast pork or perfectly grilled steak.
